Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Messiana ("we," "us," or "our"), operated by Forgardy, handles information when you use the Messiana mobile application and this website. We designed Messiana around a simple commitment: your spiritual life is sensitive, and we treat the data it generates that way.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored only as a secure hash).
- User content. Journal entries you write are stored so you can access them across devices. Journal entries are private to your account.
- Community content. Posts, comments, and other content you choose to share in community spaces, along with reports you make and moderation actions taken.
- Usage data. Basic analytics such as which features you open and app performance data, collected to keep the app working and improve it.
- Subscription data. If you purchase a membership, payment processing is handled by Apple. We receive a notification of your subscription status but never see or store your full payment details.
- Device data. Limited technical information such as device model, operating system version, and app version, used to troubleshoot.
How we use information
- To provide your account, sync your journal and progress across devices, and deliver daily content.
- To operate and moderate community spaces and respond to reports.
- To provide customer support.
- To maintain and improve the app, fix bugs, and understand which features help people.
- To send service-related communications, such as replies to your support requests. If we ever send marketing email, we'll get your consent first and honor opt-outs.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not share your journal entries with other members or post them anywhere. They are yours.
- We do not use the content of your journal entries for advertising or to build profiles of you for third parties.
Sharing
We share information only with service providers who help us run the app (such as hosting, analytics, and crash-reporting providers) under agreements restricting their use of your data, and when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our community. Community content you choose to post is, by its nature, visible to other members.
Data retention and deletion
You can delete your account at any time — from the app's account settings, or by contacting paul@messiana.org. Deleting your account removes your profile, journal entries, and personal data from our systems. Some records may persist briefly in backups, which are regularly overwritten. You may also request a copy of your data by email.
Children
Messiana is not directed to children. You must meet the minimum age required by the App Store age rating for Messiana and by applicable law to use the app. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards — such as encrypting data in transit and limiting access to production systems — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security; minimizing what we collect is the first protection.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll notify you in the app before they take effect.
